Mission & Vision

The Mt. Calvary Center for Leadership Development mission is to educate, enable, and prepare grassroots persons to become better individuals and advocates for health, economic, political and social change for the betterment of the community.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The Center for Leadership Development will train First Responders and Disaster Responders such as community, civic and church leaders, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and medical staff. In addition, we will train church leaders and community activists. The Center will train leaders in the proper manner to conduct meetings, parliamentary procedures, governmental meeting protocol, effective communication skills, both in oral and in writing, civic engagement and many more areas. The Center will address literacy as there is a need to develop and improve the literacy achievement throughout the region.

At the successful ending of the leadership training series, the Center will provide Certificates of Completion as we prepare the next wave of work force leaders, grass-root leaders, church and civic leaders and community societal change agents. We will give a voice to the voiceless, and we will not only be involved in education, but in cutting edge research that will positively affect these communities, from health care disparities to civic engagement, and effect responses to natural disasters that have greatly affected these communities for the past two years. These fundamental concepts align with the mission of the Mt. Calvary Center for Leadership Development mission to educate, enable, and prepare grassroots persons to become better individuals and advocates for economic, political and social change for the betterment of the community.
